One of the most popular tourist destinations providing not only the experiences, but home to Essence Festival and Mardi Gras where the party starts and ends with Beignets.
The city has taken on multiple transformations and has been bouncing back after multiple devastating hurricanes, but brick by brick, the “Big Easy” hasn’t lost its touch. Founded by the French, controlled by the Spanish, and eventually bought by the United States; the rich culture and architectural heritage is seen from its buildings. The city eventually grew with the influxes of Americans, French, Africans, Creole French, Europeans, and Haitian individuals. It is widely acknowledge that were it not for these cultural iterations anchored in Africanism, New Orleans as we know and love it would not exit.
Therefore, it stand to reason that those whose vibe and sheer presence make New Orleans what it is, should have a seat at the table and access so that they too, might benefit in all ways, especially economically. Because of the pandemic, Black Entrepreneurs and their smaller enterprises have been hit harder in the community. Most have closed at more than twice the rate of all others, with 41% of Black owned business closing their doors for good companies to 17% White owned businesses.
Hence, we have intentionally sought our Black owned business and service providers for this Essence Festival 2023 trip package.
