This Privacy Policy explains how Unmutedco LLC (“NoirTube,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the NoirTube platform at noirtube.com and related services (the “Service”). NoirTube is a video-sharing platform built to serve Black communities and creators. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, username, email address, password, and any profile details you add.
- Content — videos, images, descriptions, comments, messages, reactions, and other material you upload or post.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to NoirTube Pro, billing details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications — information you send when you contact support or respond to surveys.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages and videos viewed, searches, watch time, interactions, and referring links.
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance (see Section 5).
Information from third parties
- Social login — if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile information (such as name, email, and profile image) permitted by that provider and your settings.
- Imported content — where you use import features, we process video metadata returned by the applicable provider’s API (such as the YouTube Data API).
2. How We Use Information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service and your account.
- Host, process, and deliver the videos and content you publish.
- Enable social login, subscriptions, comments, notifications, and other features you choose to use.
- Process payments and manage NoirTube Pro subscriptions.
- Protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Communicate with you about updates, security notices, and support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below:
- Service providers — vendors who help us run the Service, including cloud hosting and media storage (Amazon Web Services / S3), payment processing (Stripe), and authentication providers (Google, Facebook). They may access information only to perform services for us.
- Public content — videos, comments, and profile details you choose to make public are visible to other users and visitors by design.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of NoirTube, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account as described in Section 7.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect certain features.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We will respond as required by applicable law, including the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and, for Canadian users, PIPEDA.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International Users
NoirTube is operated from the United States and may process information in the United States, Canada, and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
